YouTube Thumbnail Preview Tester

See how your thumbnail and title will look on YouTube before you publish. Free, and your images never leave your browser.

Loading a link fills in the thumbnail, title and channel name. Views, upload time and video length are for the preview only, so type any values you like.

These previews are approximations of YouTube's layouts and do not predict clicks. Your images stay in your browser and are never uploaded.

What to Check

Troubleshooting

"Could not read that image"

Use a JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP file under 15 MB. Some very large or unusual files may fail to load.

The link did not load a thumbnail or title

Check that the link is a full YouTube video link. Private or removed videos cannot be loaded, and the title may not load for videos whose owner has turned off embedding. In that case, type the title yourself.

The image looks cropped

Thumbnails should be 16:9. An image with another shape is cropped in the preview, and the note under the upload box tells you when the ratio is not 16:9.
