What Does This Tool Do?

The YouTube Playlist Length Calculator fetches every video in a public YouTube playlist and calculates the total watch time. Whether you're planning a study session, binge-watching a course, or scheduling content, this tool tells you exactly how long it will take.

How to Use

1
Go to any public YouTube playlist and copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
2
Paste the URL into the input field above. The tool accepts full playlist URLs or just the PLxxxxxxx playlist ID.
3
Click Calculate. For large playlists, a progress bar shows how many videos have been fetched.
4
View total duration, average video length, and speed-adjusted watch time estimates.

Tips

Watching a course? Use the 1.5x or 2x speed estimate to plan how much time you actually need to finish it.

Large playlists: Playlists with hundreds of videos may take a few seconds to calculate — the progress bar keeps you updated.

Private playlists: Only public playlists are supported. Private and unlisted playlists are not accessible via the YouTube API.

Troubleshooting

Playlist not found

Make sure the playlist is public. Check the URL contains list=PL or similar. The URL should look like: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxxxxxxx

Fewer videos than expected

YouTube may not return deleted or private videos within a playlist. The count shown is the number of accessible public videos.
